(I seriously need to scan some of our old dating pics!)
John and I met at an Elbert County Football game. We talked and had a wonderful evening together with friends. I never thought I would see him again even though we found out that night we were attending the same college. God had other plans and we did see each other again…falling head over heels in love, I might add. 😉 We didn’t remain just friends for long.
On October 19, 2005, John and I began our dating relationship. It has been almost 11 years now! That is so hard to believe! So much has happened since then, but I’m getting ahead of myself! John and I spent all of our free time together and probably annoyed the heck out of our friends and family, but we just knew that our relationship was right and meant to be. John proposed to me on July 13, 2006, shortly after my birthday. It was amazing and beautiful and I’m such a sap! The engagement lasted much longer than anticipated about 2 1/2 years. I don’t recommend anyone being engaged that long! (Especially when you are living apart and don’t get to see each other as often as you would like!)
On August 15, 2008, we tied the knot. It was a beautiful ceremony and at the end of the day it was awesome to be able to call my love, my husband too! We had a brief honeymoon in Gatlinburg, TN and then life continued on with work and school. That winter, we adopted our first child. Sophie, our sweet fur baby, joined the family in February of ’09, right around Valentine’s Day. We had many fun adventures with her as well as hard times. (We nearly lost her to Parvo.)
Years passed, (as they do), and John and I began talking about expanding our family. John and I sort of knew from the beginning that we would have children, even when I went through a spell of not wanting to have children at all. We decided that it was time, we started our journey in November of 2011 and were blessed to find out that I was pregnant on January 13, 2012 with a second pregnancy test. We were thrilled and shocked that we were blessed so soon! On January 31, 2012, we were able to hear our baby bean’s heartbeat. It was the most amazing experience! My pregnancy was fairly text book and probably boring to read about. I was very nauseated the first trimester, the second was wonderful, and the third I was very ready to meet my baby! On April 20, 2012, we found out we were having a boy. I was so pleased to confirm my suspicions. 😉 We had already chosen his name, John Declan Leviner. We chose the same initials as his dad and he would go by Declan, which is of Irish origin and means “full of goodness” and “man of prayer.”
John Declan Leviner was born on The First Day of Fall! September 22, 2012 at 6:59 pm. He weighed 8lbs even and was 21 1/2 inches long. He is our pride and joy! It is so hard to believe that he will be turning 4 years old in a few months!
